A new mid-size luxury sedan from Infiniti debuts this year. The 2011 M37 replaces the M35 in Infiniti’s luxury sedan lineup, and is aimed to compete directly with European rivals. Typical for Infiniti, the M37 is packed with technology and standard luxury and safety options. Priced lower compared to similarly outfitted European competition, the Infiniti M37 has a base under $50,000 that includes a long list of impressive standard features. The M37 is available in a rear wheel drive, or in the M37x version which adds all wheel drive. Both options include a muscular 3.7 liter DOHC 24-valve V6, putting out 330 horse power and 270 pound feet of torque. Connecting the power plant to the tires is a seven-speed automatic with manual paddles. The driver can select between four shift modes (Eco, Snow, Sport, and Standard). Eco mode provides the best fuel economy and Sport the fastest performance, holding gear longer while accelerating or turning into a corner.
The new 2011 M37 looks like it came to play. Styling is aggressive and gives a clue to the performance under the hood. It looks ready to pounce on an unsuspecting Audi or Mercedes with its bulging fender flares and large grill. The 18-inch alloy wheels with V-speed-rated high performance tires are standard. So are automatic bi-xenon headlights, power-folding mirrors, sunroof, and keyless ignition.
Plenty of safety features are expected on a high-tech luxury sedan, and Infiniti loaded up the 2011 M37 with safety gizmos. Coming standard with all trim levels are front and side curtain airbags, an active head restraint system to minimize whiplash, four wheel anti-lock brakes, and traction and stability control. The standard package for the Infiniti M37 loaded with technology. It includes a rearview camera, Bluetooth, leather upholstery, a six speaker stereo with CD, XM satellite radio, and an iPod jack.
